This program is used to read security objects in various formats
and verify the Signature against the Issuing Authority's Certificate.
These files must be available in a standard location or one indicated
by use of the `-I' option.
This program looks first for a Revocation Certificate before checking
the signature. If it finds one, it then tries to validate this
Revocation Certificate; if it is valid,
then the requested Certificate is NOT. However, if the
Revocation Certificate is not valid, then we ignore this and
go back to checking the signature on the Certificate.
If the Issuer Certficate file cannot be located, then the
requested Certificate is considered invalid.
Otherwise, the Issuer Certficate is used to verify the signature
on the requested Certificate.
If the Issuer Certficate is not a Top-Level CA but is signed by
a higher Certificate, then this procedure recurses, validating the
signing Certificate, until a Top-Level CA is reached.
All Certificates in the Chain must be valid for this program
to return a successful status for the requested Certificate.
